One of Japan’s largest law firms, TMI Associates, has embarked on a business alliance with Jakarta-based Frans & Setiawan Law Office. The Tokyo-based firm’s move underscores its expansion out of Japan, after opening an office in Paris earlier this year.
This new business association, operating under the name “Frans&Setiawan Law Office in association with TMI Associates”, took effect from December 18th and is based in the Jakarta Mori Tower situated in Jakarta’s central business district.
TMI Associates’ continuing expansion is representative of a trend of global law firms broadening their reach in search of favourable markets. The firm’s alliance with a local Indonesian corporate and commercial law firm is a key part of their strategy to increase their international presence.
