Litera Launches Litera One: A Cloud-Based Legal Platform Transforming Law Practice Integration with Microsoft 365

Legal technology company Litera has launched Litera One, a unified cloud-based platform integrating legal drafting, contract review, and firm performance tools within Microsoft 365 applications. Announced on March 19, the new platform aims to eliminate workflow fragmentation, a prevalent issue in legal practices, by connecting different aspects of legal work—including drafting, review, knowledge management, and performance assessment—directly within Microsoft Word and Outlook.

The platform is propelled by Litera AI+, a bespoke generative AI engine tailored specifically to cater to legal workflow demands. Unlike conventional AI tools, which are often repurposed for legal tasks, Litera AI+ is intricately integrated into the entire legal workflow. It connects with existing Litera applications like Litera Compare and Contract Companion, offering a coherent intelligence layer throughout the document lifecycle while ensuring integration with Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI services.

Litera CEO Avaneesh Marwaha underscored the transformative potential of Litera One, stating that it drastically reduces the number of applications lawyers typically switch between, thus boosting accuracy and consistency. This advancement promises not only to streamline lawyers’ workflows but also to enhance their ability to access document insights and client data without leaving their primary work environment.

The release also features cloud-based versions of essential drafting tools, with plans to incorporate further integrations such as Kira, Litera Transact, and additional Foundation suites. Such expansion aims to provide an end-to-end connected legal workflow across a variety of legal specialties and practice areas.

Litera One has been developed with significant input from over 30 beta customers, including law firms such as Linklaters LLP, to ensure the platform meets real-world operational needs. Law professionals now have the opportunity to observe the platform in action via a presentation by Litera’s CEO at the upcoming Legalweek 2025, with virtual options available through Litera’s website, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
