International law firm, Addleshaw Goddard, is bucking the trend in the legal industry with significant financial growth. In stark contrast to many firms with static or declining financial results, the firm has reported an 18% surge in revenue for the second year in succession, lifting figures from £377 million to an impressive £443 million.
The UK-centric business saw a revenue growth of 14%, and its Middle Eastern side recorded a monumental growth of 43%. Clearly demonstrating the success of the firm’s strategic international expansion, the Middle East-focused revenue growth underscores the firm’s robust performance in the region.
Additionally, the firm’s profit spiked by 18%, mounting to a robust £184 million. This is indeed a notable increase, as it’s almost a £30 million upsurge from the previous financial term’s profit of £155 million.
Reflecting on the firm’s financial triumphs, Addleshaw’s managing partner, John Joyce, said: “It is especially encouraging to see the positive impact of our strategic focus to better support and service clients around the world, win new market share and establish AG as a destination employer.”
In the past two years, the firm has seen significant growth in its global partner group, appointing nearly 100 new partners and extending its reach with seven offices in Europe and the imminent opening of its fourth Middle Eastern office in Riyadh.
Despite not reporting Profit Per Equity Partner (PEP) figures for this financial year, last year’s figures portrayed a promising scenario: PEP reached £866,000, marking a considerable escalation from £849,000 recorded in the financial year to April 2022.
The firm also revealed plans for its impending London office relocation. The firm has already commenced the process by beginning the new fit out, ahead of the projected move in September 2024.
With many legal firms this year publicly announcing middling financial results with static growth figures, and declining profits, Addleshaw Goddard has demonstrated its resilience and strategic success with these robust financial growth figures.
