M&A Law Firms Increase Investment in AI Technology Despite Decline in Deal Volume

While artificial intelligence (AI) may be a fairly recent addition to tech stacks generally, M&A lawyers are quite accustomed to this form of technology. Having been incorporated into their utilities for some time, near about a decade now, AI is not a newcomer in the world of mergers and acquisitions law.

The increase of AI integrations across all areas of legal tech has prompted the M&A sector to deepen its reliance on this technology. This has been noted in the Technology in M&A Report: AI, Tech Adoption, and Talent Management in the US and Canada, published by Litera.

Despite a decline in M&A deal volume, investment in M&A technology is flourishing. This suggests that as the value of AI continues to be recognized, law firms are likely to look towards increased technology spending. In particular, this will likely focus on AI as a primary component given its increasing role and utility.
