In an ongoing dispute surrounding former Twitter legal chief Vijaya Gadde’s unpaid legal bills, her attorneys have criticized the social media platform and its new owner for neglecting to cover $1.1 million in fees. These fees were incurred while Gadde prepared to give testimony before Congress earlier this year. The lawyers represented Gadde and two other former Twitter executives, who filed a lawsuit against the San Francisco-based company in the Delaware Court of Chancery in April. Their claim encompasses legal fees related to Twitter-associated matters including lawsuits and investigations, which piled up after Elon Musk’s $44 billion acquisition of the company. Musk removed the executives immediately after the purchase.
The attorneys representing Gadde highlighted Twitter’s habit of late payments and neglect of its commitments. They stated, “Although Twitter would like to pretend it is a party that dutifully pays its contractual obligations as they come due, it is in fact perpetually delinquent and is gaining a well-earned reputation for shirking its commitments.”
