Axiom Ince, the established buyers of U.K. law firms Ince and Plexus Law, has recently requested the help of prominent accounting firm BDO to conduct an essential internal investigation. This follows the recent suspension of three of its leaders over allegations of financial mismanagement, creating a sense of unease amid client concerns. The firm aims to secure as many jobs as possible during this turbulent time.
The decision to initiate this investigation materialized in response to last week’s news, in which it was stated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) that the practices of the three lawyers in question would be shut down. The SRA’s judgment was subsequently published by the regulator. According to the spokesperson of the firm, the trio, including Managing partner Pragnesh Modhwadia, Head of personal injury and medical negligence Shyam Mistry, and Head of commercial, investment and residential property Idnan Liaqat, have been suspended from practice since.
Axiom Ince has stated that in addition to the internal investigation, external investigations are also underway to address the alleged mismanagement.
