Spring Health Launches Sage Platform for Workplace Mental Health Education

In a time when mental health support is deemed essential for workplaces, more than half of managers grapple with achieving the company’s wellbeing targets. Although this statistic—presented in a recent study by Deloitte—may ring alarm bells, Spring Health, a New York City-based digital mental health company has taken strides to address this growing concern. It recently announced the launch of Sage—a platform designed to enhance mental health education in the workplace.

Offered as a web-based platform, Sage provides asynchronous video courses led by the clinical team at Spring Health. These courses are not just tailored for managers to help establish a mentally healthy work environment, but also for employees seeking to control their own mental health. These lessons cover diverse topics like burnout prevention, approaches to therapy, creation of psychological safety, and recognizing signs of a coworkers’ possible mental health struggle.

On the usability of the platform, Dr. Amy Cirbus, Head of Clinical Content at Spring Health, elaborated that users “are able to come in on their own time, connect with the courses that they require, and complete them.” To retain user engagement, she further added, there are activities like surveys, quizzes, and self-reflection opportunities intermittently placed within the courses.

The decision to develop such a platform was inspired by feedback from their employer customers requesting mental health training. It’s believed that the availability of such resources aids companies in retaining their employees. Sage will be provided to most Spring Health employer customers with no additional charge. Currently, the company serves more than 4,500 firms, including the likes of General Mills, DocuSign, Wellstar Health System, and Instacart.

In the world of digitally forward mental health services, other companies serving employers include Headspace Health and Lyra Health. Headspace Health deploys a service called Headspace Culture and Lyra Health offers a program titled Workforce Transformation. Both of these programs are designed to provide resources and training to aid employers in fostering a mentally healthy workforce.

Spring Health’s ultimate goal with the launch of Sage is to assist employers in better understanding mental health dynamics within their teams. In addition to Sage, the company offers numerous services such as meditation, coaching, therapy, medication, and others. Utilizing Precision Mental Healthcare process, they provide tailormade care by leveraging machine-learning models and an array of patient information. Their commitment to improving mental health support in the workplace is further exemplified by their recent efforts to expand their family care solution.
