Amazon Ceases Defamatory Emails, Leading IP Attorney to Dismiss Lawsuit

Francis Koh, a Maryland-based intellectual property lawyer, recently voluntarily dismissed his defamation lawsuit against Amazon. Koh made this decision when Amazon committed not to send any further emails to his clients about purported sanctions against him.

Koh, who has an impeccable record and is a principal at the Koh Law Firm in Bethesda, Maryland, serves both foreign and domestic applicants. He has filed thousands of trademark applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In addition, Koh has also guided his clients through the Amazon Brand Registry program, a service that aids brand owners in protecting their intellectual property rights on Amazon’s marketplace.

During a telephone meeting with U.S. District Judge Peter J. Messitte for the District of Maryland on July 14, counsel representing Amazon confirmed that they would cease sending the defamatory emails. This decision was noted in a recently-filed transcript.
