Donald Trump, known for oscillating between legal teams, has switched his legal counsel ahead of his impending Georgia indictments. Formerly represented by Drew Findling, a lawyer who had verbalized his criticism of Trump in no uncertain terms in the past, Trump has now appointed Steve Sadow as his legal representative.
Steve Sadow, in his professional proclamation, was forthright: his client should never have been indicted, and he would vigorously defend the former president against all the charges leveled against him. This declaration was given in a statement to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Sadow is not unfamiliar with high stake trials, having represented clients like rapper Gunna, effectively negotiating a community service sentence instead of incarceration. Sadow had also represented another artist, Rick Ross, whose career, fraught with legal issues, served as the basis for a class on contract law that was offered at Georgia State law.
This transition in Trump’s legal representation marks an interesting turn in his legal battle. His erstwhile attorney Drew Findling was known to be critical of him. This shift to Sadow, a lawyer who has won deals for his high-profile clients, is telling of the upcoming challenges Trump might be anticipating in his legal entanglements.
It seems, however, that Trump, a professional flip-flopper and self-snitcher, wishes to turn the tide in his favor with this new counsel at his side.
With this move, only time will tell if the new legal brain trust with a background in the music industry will prevent Trump from ‘singing like a bird’.
