Hong Kong Police Issue $127,000 Bounty for Arrest of Pro-Democracy Activists, Including Prominent Lawyers

Hong Kong Police is offering financial rewards amounting to $127,000 to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of eight elusive pro-democracy activists. The activists, accused of violating Hong Kong’s national security law, have purportedly fled to the West. The charges against them include suspected foreign collusion, inciting secession, and subversion.

Among the absconded individuals are a former Kennedys partner, an ex-Herbert Smith lawyer, and two former legislators. Some of the accused activists are also alleged to have called for sanctions against Hong Kong officials and for the independence of Hong Kong and Taiwan via social media channels.
