Continuing to strengthen their global M&A practice, White & Case has made a significant move in its Madrid office. The firm has recently welcomed former practice heads from Herbert Smith Freehills, Ignacio Paz and Pablo García-Nieto, to join their team as partners.
Both Paz and García-Nieto bring with them a wealth of experience. They had been with Herbert Smith Freehills for 14 years. Prior to this, according to their LinkedIn profiles, both had gigs at well-known law firms, Linklaters and Garrigues.
It seems to be a strategic decision as Oliver Brettle, a member of White & Case’s global executive committee, stated that the firm is carefully and strategically expanding its Madrid office.
