Yesterday’s acquisition of two leading e-discovery corporations, Logikcull and IPRO by global e-discovery company Reveal has resulted in layoff notices for some of the employees of the acquired corporations today. The acquisition deal was said to be above a billion dollars.
Layoff notices are not completely unexpected post such acquisitions. When asked about the potential laying-off of employees from both the firms before the acquisition, a spokesperson from Reveal mentioned the inevitability of alterations due to immense acquisitions which might include lay-offs owing to overlapping areas. The spokesperson emphasized that the merging operations would naturally demand the elimination of some redundancies, notwithstanding Reveal’s commitment to welcoming employees from Logikcull and IPRO.
While it was reported by a source that layoffs at IPRO were widespread, Reveal contends this information, stating that most of the staff are being retained. “We fully welcome the majority of Logikcull and IPRO employees,” says the spokesperson.
Those employees who have been laid off are being provided with severance packages based on their time spent with the company and have access to a variety of outplacement resources.
