The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently released its annual Public Notice and has set the deadline for the payment of annual regulatory fees as September 20, 2023. The payment window opens today and will close promptly at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the due date.
The broadcasting industry, in particular, will need to focus on meeting this timeline set by the FCC. These regulatory charges play a significant part in the overall budgeting and operation of both radio and TV stations. It’s important to note that the FCC, however, announced a decrease in some of these fees for this fiscal year, which will offset some of these costs for media organizations.
Payments can be made through the FCC’s Commission Registration System, otherwise known as CORES. This online system allows for quick, efficient, and secure payment transactions.
