Herbert Smith Freehills has augmented its Asia private capital team, bringing Peiwen Chen on board from White & Case in Singapore. Chen was previously a local partner at White & Case and will join Herbert Smith Freehills as a partner.
Simultaneously, the firm has arranged for the relocations of its Sydney-based M&A partner, Malika Chandrasegaran, to Singapore. Reportedly, both Chen and Chandrasegaran’s expertise in energy transition and technology will help the firm address its client’s growing need for private capital advice.
White & Case has seen the departure of several partners to other companies in Asia over the past year.
