Norton Rose Fulbright CEO Gerry Pecht Exits, Prompting Leadership Shuffle

According to a recent report on Bloomberg Law, after more than four decades at Norton Rose Fulbright, Global Chief Executive Officer Gerry Pecht has left the international law firm.

Pecht’s exit from the firm came well over a year before the conclusion of his term as CEO. In the wake of his departure, the firm has had to reorganize its leadership. Jeff Cody, the managing partner of the firm’s U.S. operations, and Peter Scott, the head of the firm’s Europe, Middle East, and Asia region, have taken the helm of the firm’s global executive committee on an interim basis.

This transitional period, the firm stated, would “ensure a seamless management of the affairs of the global firm.” Pecht’s tenure at Norton Rose Fulbright spanned 43 years, during which time he contributed his expertise in diverse ways, notably as the global head of dispute resolution and litigation.

Pecht assumed the role of CEO in late 2020, succeeding Peter Martyr, the driving force behind the critical merger of Norton Rose and Fulbright & Jaworski. The firm stated that they “wish Gerry the very best in the next phase of his remarkable career.”
