Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists LLC (BOS) recently reported a significant data breach that resulted in the exposure of sensitive user data, including social security numbers, possibly affecting almost 240,000 individuals. The company released a notice of this breach after registers of unauthorized access to their IT network came to light.

The infiltrators managed to gain unlawful access and acquisition of classified information from the data storage systems of BOS. This information, according to the notice statement, includes individual’s names, social security numbers, comprehensive medical details, health insurance information, and user credentials.

The breach was discovered after BOS identified unfamiliar activities within its IT network infrastructure. The issue has since raised concerns over the cybersecurity measures adopted by healthcare providers, prompting a call for more robust data protection systems.
