EEOC Releases 2022 EEO-1 Component 1 Report: Employers Prepare to Disclose Workforce Demographics

On October 31, 2023, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will make the 2022 EEO-1 Component 1 Report form available for employers. This reporting requirement calls for the disclosure of employee demographics such as race, ethnicity, and gender, stratified by job category.

Companies are expected to collect relevant workforce data from October 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022, as necessitated by EEOC reporting provisions. The due date for submission to the EEOC of these records is scheduled for December 5, 2023.

The importance of this requirement cannot be understated due to its significance in the continued fight against workplace discrimination. As such, employers should prepare in advance to ensure a seamless and comprehensive reporting process.
