Groombridge, Wu, Baughman & Stone, a U.S. patent litigation boutique firm, has announced the opening of its inaugural international office in Tokyo. The firm, which was founded last year by four previous Paul, Weiss partners, made the strategic move by bringing on board partner Maxwell Fox from McDermott, Will & Emery. This addition to their team seeks to further strengthen their international presence and better service clientele in the Japanese and East Asian markets.
The Tokyo branch will be closely coordinating its operations with the firm’s existing offices in New York and Washington D.C. The team is determined to represent East Asian companies, notably from Japan, in managing their intellectual property (IP) matters. Their expertise covers a range of industries such as the life sciences, biopharmaceuticals, electronics, automotive, chemicals, telecommunications, and consumer products sectors.
