A Washington state attorney has been handed a six-month suspension from practicing law following a conviction for driving under the influence (DUI) and making false statements to law enforcement and an insurance company in relation to a hit-and-run incident. This decision was publicly announced by the Washington State Bar Association.
The suspended attorney, identified as John D. Du Wors of Bainbridge Island, was found to have violated multiple rules of professional conduct in connection with his convictions. These violations included obstruction of police officers investigating the accident Du Wors denied committing, and driving under the influence.According to the Washington State Bar Association’s (WSBA) official statement, Du Wors’ actions constituted a significant breach of these professional standards.
