Rudy Giuliani’s legal woes have piled up even further with another adversary appearing. Giuliani’s ex-lawyer, Robert Costello, has filed a collections suit against him for almost $1.4 million in unpaid bills.
Giuliani’s financial problems were exacerbated by his association with former President Donald Trump. Despite guiding him through multiple impeachment processes, Giuliani was left empty-handed by Trump who allegedly refused to pay for his services.
Costello is no stranger to partnering with controversial figures – he has also tangled himself with Trump. He played a significant role in publicizing Hunter Biden’s “laptop”. Costello also enticed with a pardon to Michael Cohen during the Mueller investigation.
Costello has represented Giuliani in a spate of criminal investigations, covering everything from Georgia’s Fulton County District Attorney’s Office to the U.S. House Select Committee’s inquiry into the January 6th attack on the United States Capitol. These complex legal challenges have naturally accrued a significant legal bill.
Costello’s filed lawsuit against Giuliani closely resembles a lawsuit previously filed against Steve Bannon who also allegedly failed to pay his legal fees, amounting to almost $500,000. Both lawsuits, almost identical in content, were signed by the same Davidoff associate.
Beyond these unpaid legal dues strangling Giuliani’s finances, he is also facing a number of large-scale lawsuits from the likes of Dominion Voting Systems, its competitor Smartmatic, and his former associate Noelle Dunphy. Giuliani, who’s currently barred from practicing law, recently put his New York Apartment on the market, suggesting a potential financial collapse.
Insider reports that the dynamic between Giuliani and Costello, once close friends, has unmistakably soured. As the saying goes, what goes around, comes around – In MAGAworld at least.
