Legal giant Reed Smith has appointed Houston-based appellate partner Alan York as the new overseer of its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, succeeding John Iino who retired in August. According to Law.com, York took office as the global chair of DEI as of Monday, having previously been a leading figure in the firm’s LGBTQ+ business inclusion group, PRISM, since 2018.
York’s commitment to diversity is unwavering. In his role, he is guided by the knowledge that diversity strengthens decision making and meets client expectations. York’s transition to DEI global chair follows his tenure practicing in the firm’s appellate section, which commenced in 2016.
