Navigating Political Instability and Mining Trends: Challenges for Legal Advisers in Africa

Operating in Africa presents a unique set of challenges, with some countries experiencing political instability and coups, increasing the pressure on legal advisers to mitigate risks and navigate complexities inherent in doing business on the continent, as reported by Law.com.

Despite these challenges, the African market remains vibrant and full of opportunities, according to Justin Faye, the recently appointed head of Africa for the law firm Linklaters. Faye emphasized that his focus will be on building upon the firm’s existing strengths in the region.

“We continue to be involved even in countries where politically speaking there are issues,” Faye commented, hinting at the firm’s commitment to maintain its active presence across the continent regardless of the prevailing political climate.
