Appalachian Law School’s Dean B. Keith Faulkner Named President of Charleston Southern University

B. Keith Faulkner, the current president and dean of the Appalachian School of Law (ASL) in Virginia, is transitioning into a new role as the president of Charleston Southern University—his alma mater. The move is slated to occur in early October.

The board of trustees at Charleston Southern University (CSU) unanimously approved Faulkner for the position in late July, shifting the leadership dynamic of the University. This decision was shared through an official announcement from CSU.

Faulkner expressed his deep commitment to the role, stating, “The responsibility of leading is one that I take with great seriousness and humility. I am a good listener, and I am anxious to hear from our alumni about how they believe that we can improve CSU together.”

This development signifies a significant milestone in Faulkner’s career, marking a return to his alma mater in a leadership capacity.
