Continuing its global expansion amid turbulent economic times, litigating behemoth Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan declared its intentions of formally entering the Southeast Asian Market. The firm plans to apply for a Foreign Law Practice licence to launch an office in Singapore, having previously established new offices in Beijing and the UAE within the past year.
The move to apply for a Singapore office comes in response to an increased level of complexity in client needs, particularly around high-profile commercial litigation and investigations in the region. Notably, upon approval of its FLP application, the firm plans to relocate its International Arbitration Partner from Hong Kong, Duncan Watson, to lead its Singapore office. The decade-long Managing Partner in Hong Kong and Head of its Asia International Arbitration practice, John Rhie, will support the new site on a fly-in-fly-out basis.
These strategic expansions illustrate the firm’s dedication to meeting the rising demand for advanced legal acumen in burgeoning markets across the Asia Pacific. Access the original article on Quinn Emanuel’s planned launch here.
