According to a recent survey by LawVision and BigHand, sentiments of optimism concerning profitability have begun to wane among leaders of law firms. There seems to be an increased emphasis being placed on strategies that would enhance profitability.
This survey which was conducted between June and August, had respondents that included managing partners, COOs, CFOs, pricing chiefs and other high-ranking professionals from around 50 law firms located in US, Canada, United Kingdom and Europe. The survey findings pointed to a significant reduction in satisfaction levels over profitability, from 87% in the previous year to 63% in the current year.
Firms of varying sizes including Big Law firms, midsize firms, and boutiques constituted the sample for this survey, with Big Law firms making up nearly 40%.
These findings indicate a mounting pressure to maximise profits from the fiscal year 2023, amidst a backdrop of declining optimism.
