Doug Bryden, former head of the Environment and Operational Regulatory Practice at Travers Smith, will join Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as a partner in its global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and sustainability practice. The announcement was made by the firm on Thursday. Bryden, who had a tenure of over 13 years at Travers Smith, additionally co-lead the firm’s ESG and Impact group. His move to Freshfields comes amidst a significant number of departures from Travers Smith observed earlier this year, despite an apparent reduction in staff turnover in recent months.
