The University of California Irvine School of Law (UCI Law) and the UCI School of Humanities have unveiled plans to launch a collaborative 3+3 program. A novel introduction within the University of California system, this partnership aims to provide students an accelerated pathway to achieving both their bachelor’s and J.D. degree in just six years, a full year less than the customary seven-year route.
Further amplifying its appeal, the program will incorporate scholarship funding for qualifying students. As announced by UCI Law, this empowered approach underlines their belief in the unique advantage of a combined UCI B.A. and a UCI J.D.
In welcoming the development, UCI Law Dean and Chancellor’s Professor of Law Austen L. Parrish emphasized the potent combination of a UCI B.A. and a UCI J.D., citing successful alumni as testament to this belief. The intertwining of the humanities and legal education in this accelerated program promises to not only broaden students’ intellectual horizons but also optimize their preparation for entry into the competitive legal field.
