Gearing up for its 11th year, the annual Clio Cloud Conference, or ClioCon, continues to impress with its vibrant energy and impactful sessions, which cater primarily to solo and smaller law firm professionals. One of the legal tech industry’s most influential events, the conference has grown significantly since its inception, ranging from a modest crowd of 200 attendees in 2013 to a whopping 4600 participants this year, both in-person and virtually.
The 2023 ClioCon event marked my eleventh year in attendance, making me part of a small group that has witnessed the conference’s evolution from its early days. As a seasoned attendee and advocate of ClioCon, I’ve noticed improvements every year and am pleased to confirm the 2023 event surpassed all previous editions.
Reflecting on my experience at the Nashville Gaylord Opryland venue for the second year running, I was surprised to note an enhanced ambiance. Clio, the legal tech company behind ClioCon, deserves credit for this noticeable improvement. The company incorporated comprehensive navigational tools, including in-app maps, print maps, on-site guides, and improved signage, making the venue far more accessible than the prior year.
Regardless of the venue, ClioCon stands out for its electric atmosphere, outstanding keynote speakers, and meaningful educational sessions. In my opinion, the conference’s success primarily hinges upon its attendees – a passionate group of legal professionals committed to enhancing the legal experience for all. This underlying mission engenders a ‘cult of innovation’ ambiance permeating every corner of the conference
Besides creating a unique atmosphere, Clio goes all out to ensure that the conference is immersive, hosting a range of events such as an opening night party at the Grand Ole Opry and another party in a classic downtown Nashville honky tonk. In between, the agenda is neatly packed with thought-provoking speeches and announcements of pivotal product enhancements and releases.

Despite ClioCon moving on to Austin, Texas next year, the 2023 conference – and the lessons it offered – will be etched in participants’ memories for years to come.
