Banking and finance practices bore the brunt of associate departures in the United Kingdom over the summer. According to a study conducted by Law.com Compass, over one-third of all the exits in June and July were from this sector.
In the detailed examination of personnel movement, they studied nearly 347 departures across 112 firms. A significant 37% of these were found to be closely linked with banking and finance practices. This figure equated to nearly 130 banking and finance associates leaving their posts during the studied period. Next in line on the list were corporate lawyers. The research by Law.com Compass, however, doesn’t delve into the reasons behind these statistics, which might encompass a range of factors unique to each individual firm and associate.
Detailed analysis and larger breakdowns are outlined in the original Law.com Compass report.
