The chief legal officer of HanesBrands, Tracy Preston, has been elected as the chair of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s (ACC) global board of directors for 2024, according to an announcement on Bloomberg Industry Group, Inc.
With more than 45,000 in-house counsels worldwide counting on the ACC for representation, the change in leadership came with high anticipation during the ACC’s conference in San Antonio, Texas.

Additionally, Cristina Gonzalez, chief legal officer of Staples Inc., will succeed Preston as the newly elected vice chair. These developments support the vision of the ACC in strengthening its global leadership position in providing support to its in-house counsel members.
Another valuable addition to the ACC global board of directors is David Bamlango. As the general counsel of the Eastern and South African Trade & Development, his inclusion in the board further solidifies the ACC’s commitment to creating a truly diverse and global representation for in-house counsels.
