Standard Chartered, a multinational bank, has announced the appointment of its new general counsel for its global corporate, commercial and institutional banking division, as well as its Europe and Americas regions. Samallie Kiyingi, the newly appointed counsel, will be based in Singapore and will take over the role from the current group GC, Sandie Okoro.
Kiyingi joined Standard Chartered from the Africa Export-Import Bank. In recognition of her outstanding contribution to the field, she was named GC of the Year at the 2022 African Legal Awards.
