Energy and infrastructure specialist, Greg Lavigne, has recently left his position at Allen & Overy to join Sidley Austin. Now operating as a partner in the energy, transportation, and infrastructure group, Lavigne is based in New York.
His decision to move to Sidley Austin occurred only a few weeks following a significant merger approval between Allen & Overy and Shearman & Sterling. An overwhelming 99% of partners voted in favor of this merger in October, setting the stage for a full tie-up to be finalised in 2024.
Greg Lavigne’s transition is part of a recent trend of partner departures from A&O and Shearman following the merger announcement.
