Wayne State University Law School is set to receive a new building with the aid of a substantial $30M capital projects grant, approved by the Michigan Legislature. The grant is significant both in its amount and the rarity of its kind, marking the largest capital outlay awarded to Wayne State in almost three decades and only the third such approval in the past twelve years.
In a statement, Wayne Law Dean Richard Bierschbach emphasised the importance of this occasion. In his words, the move “reflects the power of our community to unite support around Wayne Law’s unique public mission”. This mission strides towards a combination of academic excellence, access, and community engagement with a tangible goal to educate lawyers and shape legal knowledge that brings about positive transformations in lives and communities.
