Herbert Smith Freehills CEO Justin D’Agostino Secures Second Term Amid Partnership Vote

Justin D’Agostino has been re-elected for a second term as the CEO of Herbert Smith Freehills, following a partnership vote. This information comes from a source close to the firm who disclosed that D’Agostino’s appointment was confirmed by the firm’s council after an uncontested vote.

Before his first tenure as the CEO, which officially began in May 2020, D’Agostino served as the firm’s Asia and U.S. leader and Global Dispute Resolution Head. It’s also noteworthy that D’Agostino launched the firm’s first LGBT+ network in 2007.

Commenting on his second term, D’Agostino expressed immense pride and honor in leading the firm, in spite of the industry’s challenges. He highlighted the firm’s involvement in pioneering mandates and his privilege in working with its talented workforce. His focus remains supporting clients with their major business challenges and building on the firm’s reputation.

Although Herbert Smith Freehills reported a minimalist growth of 1% in average profit per equity partner earlier this year, alongside an 8% revenue increase to £1.186 billion for the year ending April 2023, the overall profit slightly increased by 2% to reach £388.2 million.
