The annual ATL Legally Themed Halloween Costume Contest once again showcased the creativity of its entrants just before Halloween this year. The contest, now in its fourteenth year, received a wide variety of legally themed costumes from finalists and entrants. Among them, pop culture trials and tribulations to creative pet costumes caught the attention of many.
Among the five finalists, the air of competition has thickened. There’s a submission you may remember from property class – finalists dressed as the doctrine of ancient lights.
Next in line is a contestant with learned paws. Meet Ginsburg, an adorable dog dressed up as Ruth Barker Ginsburg – a costume he was practically born to wear.
Another remarkable entry came from the University of South Dakota School of Law’s legal writing team who donned Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s soup cans, each with their own law-themed soup names.
The contest continued with a well-received appearance by the ‘goop queen’ herself, Gwyneth Paltrow recalling her highly publicized ski accident trial testimony that cost her half a day of skiing.
Last, but certainly not least, the show was stolen by a spectacular rendition of former acting Solicitor General and current Hogan Lovells partner Neal Katyal’s stylish Burning Man ensemble, complete with a propeller hat.
The stage is now set and it is time to cast your vote for the best law-related Halloween costume this year. Remember, the fate of these contestants lies in your hand. Hurry! The polls close on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 12, at 11:59 P.M. (Eastern time).
