Texas Law Firm Accuses Ex-Partner of Lying About Relationship with Bankruptcy Judge

In recent developments, Texas law firm Jackson Walker has alleged that one of their former partners, Elizabeth Freeman, misrepresented the truth about her relationship with bankruptcy Judge David R. Jones. The firm made this pronouncement following a review of earlier denials made by Freeman, in relation to the nature of her dealings with the bankruptcy Judge.

Freeman had previously, in 2021, refuted being involved in a current romantic relationship with Judge Jones. This was according to a court filing the firm made on a Monday, where it further discovered in 2022 that her statement was ‘possibly false or at least no longer true’.

The unfolding information arises at a time where the Justice Department’s bankruptcy arm is questioning over $13 million in fees related to the case.
