Former Stroock Partners Join Squire Patton Boggs Amid Firm’s Dissolution

A trio of former Stroock & Stroock & Lavan partners, specializing in investigations, have found a new professional ground at Squire Patton Boggs. This makes them the latest group of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan partners to secure a fresh start, as the historical firm dissolves its operations.

Tom Firestone and Shannon Reaves, along with Chris Griner, have made the move to the multinational law firm, Squire Patton Boggs. Firestone excelled in his role as co-chair of Stroock’s government investigations and white-collar practice. Griner, on the other hand, was the lead of the firm’s national security/CFIUS compliance group. The primary focus of Reaves’ career has been on cross-border transaction reviews in front of the Committee on Foreign Investments in the United States (CFIUS).

The need for this shift arose as around 30 Stroock partners departed from Stroock & Stroock & Lavan to join Hogan Lovells. This mass resignation encouraged the nearly 150-year-old firm to conclude its operations.

Stroock & Stroock & Lavan partners have also been absorbed by noteworthy firms such as Crowell & Moring, Steptoe & Johnson, and Thompson Coburn.

Professionals in the field are following carefully to see how these transitions will influence the dynamics within these prominent law firms.
