OMIG Announces Stakeholder Engagement Session for New York Medicaid Providers

The New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (“OMIG”) has announced the organization of an online stakeholder engagement session on Nov. 30, 2023, as shared by Harris Beach PLLC. OMIG has been active in gathering and considering input from its stakeholders throughout 2023, with Provider Engagement Forums being held in both April and May of that year.

These forums were an opportunity for providers to come forward with their experiences and perspectives, contributing to the overall shape and trajectory of Medicaid in the state. The upcoming stakeholder engagement session in November promises to deliver vital information to all attendees.

In this session, attendees can expect the OMIG to outline its action plans in response to the feedback received during the forums earlier in the year. This responsive action will be an insight into how the OMIG valued and reviewed the information delivered in those discussions.

A part of this session will also extend beyond simply responding to previous feedback. OMIG plans to reveal its next steps for the ongoing engagement of providers. Moving into the new year, providers can look forward to continued dialogue and involvement in the Medicaid Inspector General’s office, ensuring their voices and experiences remain at the forefront of the organization’s considerations.

This commitment to dialogue underscores the OMIG’s prioritization of transparency and collaboration. It is designed to reassure providers that the lines of communication remain open, which contributes to the mutual growth and improvement of Medicaid services in New York State.

The upcoming stakeholder engagement session will therefore be a pivotal date in the calendar for all healthcare providers operating in New York State, especially those involved in Medicaid services. All providers are encouraged to participate in this session and continue using their collective voice to shape the future of healthcare in the state.
