Kim & Chang, South Korea’s most prominent law firm, has recently appointed Eric Yoon, the former Seoul head of U.S. law firm K&L Gates. Kim & Chang is one of the top 100 firms worldwide in terms of revenue, and Yoon will join the company’s financial regulation and compliance practice as a foreign attorney based in Seoul.
Eric Yoon is renowned for providing guidance to international companies, including asset management firms and investment banks, on financial regulation matters. His speciality areas include investment management, financings, and multi-country mergers and acquisitions. Yoon, a member of the New York bar, represents his clients on applications, regulatory approvals, and enforcement concerns before the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the New York Department of Financial Services. Furthermore, he provides counsel on U.S. federal and state-level financial supervisory and regulatory systems.
Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Yoon was succeeded by Tyler Won, a partner in K&L Gates’ intellectual property, international trade, and antitrust practice groups, as South Korea head earlier this year.
