The holiday season is upon us, and with it comes a time-honored tradition of law firms and corporations. The famed legal website, Above the Law, has recently announced its 15th Annual Holiday Card Contest. The event, which has always brought a festive flavor to the legal fraternity, kicks off just as Biglaw bonuses and possible salary raises are on the horizon. The contest certainly adds an element of excitement amidst the ubiquity of upcoming law firm holiday parties. According to a announcement on the website, the contest started recently.
However, this merry tradition is not without rules, which need to closely adhered to. In light of environment conservation, the contest accepts only e-cards, ruling out traditional paper cards sent via mail. Contestants must submit a link to the e-card or attach the e-card itself in an email to Above the Law, but links are preferred over attachments.
- Email submissions should be directed to tips@abovethelaw.com, with the subject line as “Holiday Card Contest”
- Entries should ideally be unusual, clever, funny, or have some uniqueness that sets them apart from predictable, boring or simplistic cards
- A brief explanation, which may be quoted in the future, is required to explain what makes the presented e-card compelling
- The deadline for submissions is Friday, December 8, at 11:59 p.m. (New York time). Late submissions, unfortunately, will not be entertained
The contest has always been a fun-filled opportunity to display one’s creativity in a festive and humorous manner, and Above the Law is eagerly awaiting your submissions.
