Antisemitic Abuse Against Law Firm Associates Spurs Concern in Legal Community

Welcome to today’s legal news rundown for lawyers, law firms, and in-house counsel.

Starting on a rather distressing note, husband-and-wife associates from law firms Morrison & Foerster and Slaughter and May reportedly suffered antisemitic abuse last week on a London bus. The couple, travelling after a showing of the musical “Wicked,” happened to commute on the day of a substantial pro-Palestine march in the city. Further details about this incident can be found here.

In real estate news, law firm Scott+Scott, renowned for antitrust and securities litigation, is taking a leap in expansion. The firm is moving into a spacious 21,300 square feet office space at 230 Park Avenue in New York, famously known as the Helmsley Building. This move presents a significant leap from their smaller, existing office on a different floor. Learn more about this on the New York Post.

Changes are also afoot in academia as the Baylor Law School is set to welcome their new dean, Jeremy Counsellor. A 20-year tenured law professor, Counsellor will take up his new role next July. For further details on this appointment, refer to this Waco Tribune-Herald article.
