As many of you are aware, the YSL RICO trial has been in progress for some time now. Recently, we have gotten closer to witnessing the trial become a reality. For those looking to have a glimpse of the courtroom proceedings, the RICO Motion hearing is now available to view online thanks to Law & Crime.
Coincidentally, this case has an interesting intersection with popular culture. Following the motion hearing, you might find it intriguing to listen to some of the tracks that the prosecution used as evidence. These include “Slime Sh*t“, “Really Be Slime“, and “Eww“.
In contrast, for those looking for some lighter listening, I personally recommend Andre 3000’s piece “Dreams Once Buried Beneath The Dungeon Floor Slowly Sprout Into Undying Gardens“. It’s not only soothing but also, perhaps, a safer choice given its less likely to be used as incriminating evidence!
An intriguing figure following the trial is Chris Williams. He recently joined the Above the Law team as a social media manager and assistant editor. Prior to this, he was known as a Memelord™ in various online communities. He has a diverse background, ranging from being a former boatbuilder who can’t swim, to a writer on topics as varied as critical race theory, philosophy, and humor. You can connect with him via email at cwilliams@abovethelaw.com or on Twitter @WritesForRent.
This intriguing trial is one to watch, and provides a unique viewing of the intersections of law, pop culture, and social media deliberation. Keep an eye out for more updates.
