Countercyclical and Regulatory Practices Lead Partner Promotions in 2023

Big Law firms, as reflected by an analysis of 23 Am Law 100 firms, reveal a stark change in partner promotions. This year saw an increase in partner promotions within regulatory and countercyclical practices in comparison to last year. The biggest increases were found within Debt finance (36% increase), tax partner elections (29% increase), regulatory partner promotions (doubled), and antitrust (triple increase). Health care and FDA practices similarly weren’t left behind as they added 25% more partners than the previous year.
