Goldberg Segalla Expands Workers’ Compensation Group with New Associates

Law firm Goldberg Segalla has recently expanded its team by welcoming two new associates to their workers’ compensation group. Valerie Mayzelshteyn will be stationed at their Princeton office, while Peter Popkowski will join their Newark team.

Previously associated with the firm of Irene Shor, Valerie Mayzelshteyn specializes in workers’ compensation defense. Her professional portfolio includes representation of insurers, employers, and third-party administrators across all aspects of workers’ compensation claims. Mayzelshteyn’s responsibilities extend from the inception of these claims through to their resolution. This includes settlements negotiations, mediations, as well as the preparation of petitions and motions.

Mayzelshteyn’s expertise is further enriched by her significant background in employment litigation, where she dealt with a range of issues. These range from sexual harassment and discrimination to retaliation, wrongful termination, and whistleblower claims. Meanwhile, Peter Popkowski, formerly of Fredson Statmore Bitterman, will complement the Newark team with his unique set of skills and experiences.

In other news, Nagel Rice will mark their 40th anniversary with philanthropy, planning to kick off celebrations by making meaningful donations. Other firms on the move include Ogletree Deakins, Javerbaum Wurgaft, Capehart Scatchard, and VLJ. These continual shifts within the legal sector keep the field dynamic and exciting, offering new opportunities for growth and collaboration.
