A recent $1.45 million legal settlement was reached in Valiente v. Garden State Lumber Products Transport, a case originating from Union County. Hector Valiente, of Elizabeth, NJ, was seriously injured when his car carrier transport vehicle was rear-ended by a box truck in 2018. The box truck was operated by Luis Perez of Garden State Lumber and the collision took place while Valiente was driving westbound on I-495 in North Hills, NY. The announcement came on May 8.
At the time of the accident, Valiente was 46 years old. He suffered injuries to his neck and knees as a result of the crash. Despite this, Valiente managed to drive his car carrier back to New Jersey, where he subsequently sought medical care. The details of his injuries and subsequent medical attention came from his legal representative, William A. Bock of Gill & Chamas in Woodbridge.
Alongside the physical ailments that resulted from the collision, Valiente’s personal life was also spread into damage. Allegedly, he experienced discomfort while working and his ability to participate in his regular Sunday soccer games were impacted due to his injuries.
