Honeywell International, the multinational conglomerate, has confirmed its agreement to purchase the security business arm of Carrier Global Corp. The transaction is valued at approximately $5 billion, according to a report on Bloomberg Law.
This strategic decision enables Honeywell to significantly expand its product range. Notably, the acquisition includes renowned brands such as LenelS2, Supra, and Onity, which are known for providing state-of-the-art electronic locking solutions to corporations on a global scale.
With headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, Honeywell is a major player in various industries, including aerospace, building technologies, performance materials, and safety. The corporation has lately emphasized its initiative towards catering to the growing demand for cloud-based products and services.
On the other hand, Carrier Global Corp. will utilize the proceeds from this transaction to effectively reduce its corporate debt. Earlier this year, Carrier affirmed its commitment to climate solutions with the announcement of an agreement to acquire Viessmann Climate Solutions, a German-based manufacturer.
