Legal professionals are often inundated with numerous processes that could be better handled with the right technology. The deadline calendaring and matter management company,
LawToolBox, has recognized this and introduced new artificial intelligence features to its platform. Integrated with Microsoft Outlook and Teams, these features automate the charting of court dates and contractual deadlines.
With the fresh update, LawToolBox can scan emails and attachments in Outlook, including court orders and contracts, pulling out deadlines and meetings. These deadlines are then presented within Outlook for the user to review, edit if necessary, and add to their individual Outlook calendar, as well as the matter calendar.
An exciting addition is that the new LawToolBox AI can even extract dates from handwritten court orders that are received in email as image or PDF files. The AI also facilitates users to generate new matters and appointments from a Teams chat and engage with Teams using natural, conversational language.
Upon launching these AI features, LawToolBox becomes the first AI-powered legal application available in Microsoft Teams that “Works with Copilot for Microsoft 365”.
Using the Azure OpenAI service, LawToolBox AI can be added to Copilot for Microsoft 365. The company assures the AI assistant is secure as it is processed entirely within each customer’s Microsoft 365 cloud. The AI only processes data it can access within Microsoft 365, and any prompts and responses from clients are never used to train language models that might benefit other legal professionals.
Users with their own licenses of Azure OpenAI can create their prompts and run them against specific documents or a web URL, enabling them to use the assistant for functions like clause extraction or summarization.
The new AI from LawToolBox offers key features such as:
- Extracting deadlines from emails and attachments and adding them to user/matter calendar.
- Mapping deadlines from links to civil rules and other documents.
- Summarizing emails and attachments, and other documents.
- Drafting responses to emails
Additionally, the LawToolBox app for Microsoft Teams has been upgraded with natural language capabilities, allowing users to inquire about weekly deadlines, recent matters, find other team members who can respond to deadlines and tasks, and reschedule meetings through simple conversation.
The LawToolBox AI is available for Microsoft Teams and Copilot for Microsoft 365 users. Law firms and legal departments needing fewer than 300 licenses can access the LawToolBox AI with pay-as-you-go Azure OpenAI services enabled in their Microsoft 365 account.
Existing customers can add LawToolBox AI licenses starting now. New customers can purchase LawToolBox from Microsoft AppSource today and join the AI waitlist to gain access to LawToolBox AI.
