Dean Roger A. Fairfax Jr. has announced his departure from American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL), effective at the conclusion of the 2023-2024 academic term. Following his tenure at American University, Fairfax will thereafter assume the role of Dean at Howard University School of Law, effective July 1, 2024. This development comes in light of a series of initiatives that Fairfax had spearheaded at AUWCL, centred on developing faculty and staff diversity, and creating a staff advisory council. In addition, he was instrumental in launching initiatives for the orientation of first-generation students and introducing the Sport and Society programming.
