Poland Emerges as Fertile Ground for Multinational Law Firm Expansion

Poland is demonstrating significant potential as the next growth market for multinational law firms. During the last six months, multinational legal corporation Clyde & Co set foot in Warsaw by hiring a team from Dentons. Additionally, two Austria-based law firms, Wolf Theiss and Schoenherr, have expanded their presence by acquiring major teams from Polish firms.

Being the biggest economy in Central and Eastern Europe, Poland has been an appealing destination for international law firms for some time. The nation is already home to established offices of US and UK-based legal entities like Clifford Chance, White & Case, Baker McKenzie, and Allen & Overy. French firm Gide Loyrette Nouel has a significant presence in Warsaw, and the German legal heavyweight Noerr also expanded its Warsaw team last year with the addition of two partners from Polish law firms.

Recent economic and political dynamics are influencing this increased multinational movement in the legal sector, according to law firm partners practicing in Warsaw. You can read more about these developments here.
