Two ex-students from Sarah Lawrence College, Daniel B. Levin and Santos Rosario, have alleged negligence on part of the college for not safeguarding them against abuse by Lawrence Ray, an ex-convict who was convicted on charges of sex trafficking, extortion, and others in 2022. Ray shared a campus dorm with his daughter and had free access to the Bronxville campus.
The pair have lodged a lawsuit against the university and accused the institution of carelessness in permitting Ray to reside in the dormitory while he employed mentally abusive methodology along with threats to form a cult among Sarah Lawrence students. They claim this lack of regulation, monitoring, and intervention directly caused them emotional distress and harm.
More intricate details about their accusations can be found from their legal claim againt the college over at the New York Law Journal.
